About Forage

A woman behind a wooden outdoor bar with a sign that reads "FORAGE." The bar has various bowls of berries and a few bottles of juice or wine. There are trees in the background and a house with tan walls and a gray roof.

Meet Kara

I went from PowerPoints to mimosas.
Best decision I ever made.

Hi, I'm Kara — the founder, the stylist, the person behind the cart, and the one who will absolutely spend an unreasonable amount of time making sure your garnish spread looks perfect.

After 15 years, I walked away from a career in tech. Project management, product ownership, solution architecture — I'd built teams, led complex implementations, and spent a decade and a half making complicated things work seamlessly. I was good at it. But somewhere along the way, I started wondering what it would look like to point that same energy at something that felt a little more... alive.

So I did something that made absolutely no sense on paper. And built something I'm really proud of.

What I Bring to Your Event

What you're getting isn't a cart that shows up and hopes for the best. It's a fully styled, professionally executed experience — and the difference shows.

Every detail is thought through before we arrive: the presentation, the ingredients, the flow, the timing. We show up early, set everything up, serve your guests for the full window, and break it all down at the end. You don't manage a thing. Booking Forage means one less thing you have to worry about.

Everything I built over those 15 years — the eye for detail, the accountability, the ability to make high-stakes things run smoothly — didn't disappear when I left the corporate world. It just finally found a better home.

A cart that looks beautiful. Service that runs smoothly. An experience your guests will still be talking about on the drive home.

A Little More About Me

I'm based in Salt Lake City, I'm an obsessed poodle mom, and I consume podcasts and audiobooks at 1.5x speed like it's a personality trait.

I'm equal parts Type A and "let's just try it and see" — which is probably why leaving a perfectly good corporate career to build a catering cart business made complete sense to me.

A few things you should probably know:

  • I will never meet a food I don't want to try. Except bananas. Hard no.

  • I'm convinced a cookie dough bar would be the hit of any event. (I'm still waiting for someone to let me prove it.)

  • I care deeply about the details — the kind most people wouldn't notice if they were wrong, but absolutely feel when they're right.

If you're planning an event in Salt Lake City and want one detail completely handled — beautifully, professionally, without you lifting a finger — I’d love to be a part of it.
